Feather

I seldom work in oil or acrylic paints, unless I am faced with a subject that cries out for them and nothing else will work. This subject, a young Native American man, did just that. While the facial features and personality of the sitter are important in their own right, the portrait takes on its full meaning and expression through the brushwork in the weathered feather on his head. Thus, I call this work Feather. Oil, 24” x 32”
